Episode 146: Thriving At the Top of the Champagne Glasses Tower with Lani Almanza

How about we stop seeing self-care as a luxury and treat it like what it actually is? A necessity.

In this episode, I'm thrilled to be joined by Lani Almanza, an inspiring woman who gave her own spin to self-care, kindness, and personal growth. Lani is a Hawaiian Wellness Consultant, Author, and Founder of Alaka'i Associates, a magical place in Hawaii specifically designed to provide resources for people's health and wellness journey. After over 15 years working for the American Cancer Society, Lani had an epiphany on her 60th birthday: she had focused too much on the illness space; it was about time to focus on health and wellness.

Throughout this episode, Lani talks about the birth of Alaka'i Associates, the place she built by reformulating retirement as a massive opportunity to do what she wants, where, when, and with whom she wants. Lani also shares her unique approach to stress management, self-compassion, and her 10-step guide for self-care.

Additionally, Lani talks about her book, "Under A Full Moon: A Journey of Transformation and Wellness," the importance of "sharing the load" and reaching for help, avoiding digital burnout, and more.
